The Office of Urban Planning of the City of Zurich (Amt für Städtebau der Stadt Zürich) has made the highly successful publication “Zurich 1799” freely available. Included are the raw text of the publication, a reduced PDF, map sections and spatial data as well as various images (for which the consent of the data holders could be secured). Background: In 1799, ten years after the French Revolution, the area of Zurich was the scene of two battles. In the first battle Austrian troops fought against the French, while the second one resulted from the confrontation between the French and the Russians.
